Hogwarts Legacy Big June 2nd Patch Brings Performance Improvements, Minimizes Traversal Stuttering And More
A new Hogwarts Legacy patch is now live on PC and consoles, introducing considerable performance improvements and fixes for a variety of issues.
The June 2nd patch introduces, alongside a variety of missions, doors, cinematics, NPC, Achievements, Trophies, and UI fixes, plenty of performance improvements on all formats. On PC, overall lighting has been optimized, traversal stuttering has been minimized, memory optimization has been improved, and VRAM memory leaking has been resolved.
The new Hogwarts Legacy patch also packs plenty of platform-specific fixes. You can check out the full patch notes on the game's official website.
Despite having been released over four months ago, Avalanche Software did not abandon Hogwarts Legacy, releasing multiple patches that improved the experience on all formats but that, sadly, did not add new meaningful content. The game, however, does not need much additional content, as it's a great open-world game filled with plenty of stuff to do, although it doesn't attempt to go past the boundaries set by similar games, as Chris highlighted in his review.
Hogwarts Legacy is, for better or worse, an entertaining and engaging game. By far the best digital version of the wizarding world, it offers a vast swathe of things to do. Even the more mundane elements (bandit camps!) are improved by a robust combat system that genuinely makes you feel like you're a part of the Harry Potter universe.
Hogwarts Legacy is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One worldwide. The game will launch on Nintendo Switch this November.
